Lady Rails struggle on the diamond
Danny Lauth provides some key hits in win over AA Greenhills

The week was very rough for the Lincoln Splitters softball team. They went 2-8 on the week.

On April 20 the locals fell to Dexter 17-3 and 7-0 in two games. Alexa Anderson took the loss in the opener.
"We fell apart in the seventh inning," Lincoln Coach Karen Sexsmith said. "We had one walk and four errors. There were six errors in the game for us."
Danny Lauth was 2-for-4 in the loss.
In the second game the team had no hits and Malak Ismail took the loss.
On April 22, the locals defeated Ann Arbor Greenhills 13-7 and 8-5. Brittany Price got the first win and Ismail got the win in game two. Lauth was the big stick on the day going 3-for-6.
On Thursday the locals fell to Ann Arbor Pioneer 16-0 and 12-2.
The Taylor Tournament on Saturday wasn't much kinder to the Splitters. Lincoln lost the first game to Livonia Franklin 12-2. Lauth was 2-for-3 and Ismail was 1-for-2.
In the second game they lost to the Truman Cougars 16-2. Jackie Valance was 3-for-3 and two other had single hits.
Dearborn beat them in the third game 10-4. Valance was 3-for-3. In the final game of the week the locals fell 12-0 to Pontiac Notre Dame Prep.
"There were two brackets at the Taylor Tournament," she said. "The athletic director told us he was sorry for putting us in the wrong bracket."
Lincoln falls to 5-17 overall and 0-4 in the Southeast Conference. On Friday they play at Willow Run.
