Ypsilanti police report four catalytic converters were stolen in the 700 block of Green Road during the night preceding April 28. The expensive devices were cut from the vehicles, probably using a battery-operated reciprocating saw.

Lt. Mark Angott cautions residents to report suspicious activity around or under vehicles, or odd or suspicious sounds, to the police.
A man who attempted to lure a child into his apartment was arrested last Friday after the attempt was reported to Ypsilanti police.
The 11-year-old boy was playing with friends in the 800 block of North Congress Street when the man attempted to befriend the children and get them to come into his apartment. When the children refused, he grabbed the shirt of the boy and attempted to pull him indoors.
The child broke free and ran to a friend's house close by, where the friend's mother called police.
Bachir Babaye, 31, was arrested. He has been arraigned and is in the Washtenaw County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
Also last Friday, Ypsilanti police received a tip from an off-duty Washtenaw County Sheriff's deputy that a suspect wanted on a felony fugitive warrant, as well as warrants for felony drug possession with intent to sell and various misdemeanor warrants, was in the city.
Officers went to Rammos Barber Shop, 24 N. Washington St., where they found the suspect waiting for a haircut. They attempted to arrest the suspect, who fought with officers before being subdued.
The suspect was found to have eight grams of cocaine on his person. He was lodged in the Washtenaw County Jail.
Ypsilanti police were called to the 300 block of Chidester Place last Sunday at 12:30 a.m. on a report of possible domestic violence and a medical alarm. Upon arrival, officers found a man bleeding from the forehead and signs of a struggle, but the resident of the apartment was not on the premises.
The man was treated by Huron Valley Ambulance personnel at the scene, but refused to be transported to a hospital. He was uncooperative with the officers.
Shortly afterward, the Ypsilanti station took a call from the Dearborn Police Department, where a woman had reported she had been attacked and sexually assaulted by the man at her apartment in Chidester Place. Dearborn police brought the woman to the Ypsilanti station to make a complaint.
The woman said she and her boyfriend had been together at her apartment when he had become abusive and assaulted her. She said she had picked up an empty 40-ounce bottle from the table and hit him over the head with it before fleeing with her dog.
Ypsilanti police located the suspect at his apartment on Sunday evening. Upon entering the apartment, they found the female victim also present.
The victim professed her love for the suspect as he was being arrested. He was processed at the Ypsilanti station and lodged at the Washtenaw County Jail on a charge of criminal sexual conduct/domestic violence.

A 23-year-old Ypsilanti Township resident was stabbed in the neck 5 a.m. April 25 when a suspect jumped into the passenger side of his car and demanded money and jewelry with an unknown weapon.
According to Cmdr. Dave Egeler with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department, the suspect was walking down the middle of the road when the victim honked at the suspect to tell him to get out of the road.
Egeler said the victim's wound was not life threatening. He was treated at St. Joseph.
The suspect is about 35 to 40 years old, 5'8'' with a shaved head and a black/ gray goatee. The suspect was seen wearing a red T-shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.
A 24-year-old Detroit resident was shot in the leg at approximately 10 p.m. Apri l24 near Willow Run party store in Superior Township.
According to Cmdr. Dave Egeler, the victim was walking into the party store when the suspect approached the victim and attempted to rob him.
The victim was shot in the leg with a small silver revolver as he attempted to flee.
The Detroit resident was then driven to UM Hospital by a Good Samaritan and treated for his injuries.
The suspect is 5'9'' with a thin build and a light complection. He has reddish/ brown hair and a goatee. He was seen wearing a blue Nike hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
